2017-18 Affiliate - Elite Skater

This category is for Elite skaters who are still affiliated with the Red Deer Central Lions Speed Skating Club but who are skating in a high performance program elsewhere (e.g. at the Calgary Olympic Oval).  Cost includes fees for SSC and AASSA.

2017-18 Associate Member

**At least one parent of minor skaters is required to register in the Associate program for Speed Skating Canada and Alberta Amateur Speed Skating Association insurance purposes. An Associate member is a member of a Canadian speed skating club/program who contributes as a coach, official, volunteer, or parent and does not participate as a skating member.

2017-18 Group 2 ONE night/week OCT-DEC (Fall)

GROUP 2 skaters are typically skaters who are in the Train to Train level and higher, or if the coach feels that this group is appropriate for your skater's development.   Practices run on Tuesday and Thursdays, with skaters having the option of skating once or twice a week.   The short track program runs at the Kinex Indoor Arena starting on October 2nd.  In December, skaters move to the outdoor long track at the Golden Circle Seniors' Centre. All dates are approximate and changes will be communicated to members. The cost of the program includes: ice rental fees and coaching once/week, and fees for the Alberta Amateur Speed Skating Association and Speed Skating Canada.  Speed skates are available for rental to club members for $125.  Parents can pay for part or all of their skater's program on-line using a credit card, or in person using cheque or cash at the Club registration night at the Kinex Arena.  PLEASE NOTE:  Club registration and skate pick-up night is on September 19th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Payment for the fall MUST be made by September 19th.  Please bring two UNDATED cheques with you for $100 each to leave on file as deposits for skin suits (for competitions) and for your skates.  Returning skaters who already have undated cheques on file do not need to bring new ones.
